Dingoden Family Outback Yapper

Welcome to our Family blog. It will try to capture the various asundry activities of our mundane lives, but with an attempt at making it seem not quite so mundane.

Good Morning Everyone!

Breakfast!

Delenn got her fringe cut this morning. In general she doesn't
like having a pony tail in (let alone two of them!), but she was
quite patient as Mommy fussed with her hair.

Wednesday -- a very full, very busy, very fun day!

Melissa was quite sick today (perhaps with the same horrendous virus
that our family had last week?). Mommy and Sue (the friend who has been
watching the kids for all Mommy's hockey and soccer games) took Logan,
Delenn, Bradon and Seth to see Dorothy the Dinosaur and friends (from
the Wiggles). We walked to Araluen over from our house -- with the
younger kids in the double stroller and Bradon and Logan walking. (We
locked the stroller up to the bike rack out front.) It was really cute
seeing the kids dance and wave their hands. They seemed to have had a
good time.

When we got home the kids played outside for a while while Mom made
lunch. The three boys spent hours all in all jumping on the trampoline,
wrestling and running around. It was amazing to see how much energy
they used all day! After lunch we settled in for some books (two Dora
stories and Meet the Dentist for the younger ones followed by Spider Man
for the older ones). Then Seth and Delenn went down for naps. Bradon
and Logan did a couple of connect-the-dot sheets and used the abacus for
a few minutes (quickly sliding over anywhere from one to eight beads)
before watching a movie. After the movie ended they made some "alien
masks" with crepe paper, glitter glue and pom poms.

After nap time the kids had a good time going on a treasure hunt looking
for some rockets and their flames that were hidden around the front
area. They also played "thunderbirds" (pretending to be on a rescue
mission in their rocketship) while climbing in one of the trees, ran
around the chalk maze and did the chalk obstacle course (following a
path that had directions like run, skip, hop, etc.). Oh -- and they
also enjoyed a rocketship version of Red Light, Green Light (Blastoff/Stop)!

It was a busy day and all the kids were WIPED OUT! Mom is pretty tired
to, but in a glowing "had a great day" kind of way!

Good night!

Logan and Bradon -- wrestling in a boy-like way! Logan never
played like this with his girlfriends! It's great to have a good
mate for Logan to clown around with.

The boys invented their own game -- object was to bounce all

Delenn's Sentences

Delenn's spoken conversation is improving by leaps and bounds. Last
night (albeit in the middle of the night), Delenn said to Mommy "Help
me. More milk please." It's amazing how well she's doing putting
sentences together already (though it's not surprising because she's
been signing 2-4 word sentences for months now.

It's been a busy morning as Mommy made scrambled eggs and some
blueberry muffins and has been puttering in the kitchen for a while.
Suddenly, it got all quiet. Mommy wondered what was going on... and
found Logan and Delenn very happy in a sea of books. We had a huge
bag of books all set to take over for the Lynch boys to borrow, but
we'll have to round them up again. Delenn and Logan have just walked
by with big piles to "put back" into the book nook in the living
room!
