This was our final independent "HURRAH" trip before the baby coming due. For it we decided
to venture towards Western Australia (primarily the southwestern coastline areas.) Many have touted it as being the
most scenic of all of Australia. After our trip, we can say it was indeed fabulous!
We took the ferry, rented bikes, and rode around Rottnest Island (just west of Perth)
The water, scenery, & weather on the island was absolutely remarkable! We'd love to do it all again!
Rottnest Island was named by the Danish explorers who thought these marsupial Quokkas were big rats!
Great seafood was to be had in Framantle (southern suburb of Perth)
Majestic sea spray mesmerizes us as we just sit, watch, and contemplate life
Yet one more beautiful coastal stopping point among hundreds

Sunset along the coast
Tony & Liesl at Mushroom Rock
A stop for the night at a most delightful chalet in the famous Margaret River (wine valley) region
In some park forests, we could roam along walkways up in the treetops
T'was a wonderful change to camp amongst trees, quite different from the Central Australian terrain
Stopping in the large Karri Tree forests. Karri trees are the 3rd largest in the world!
Some Karri trees could be climbed to the top... quite fun & scary! See Tony climb!
A stop at the Whale Center to learn about the old days of whaling. Liesl guns for Tony.
